Corbett Corner: Where Mental Health Meets the Rebel Spirit

Welcome to Corbett Corner, where therapy isn’t about "fixing" you—it’s about helping you unlearn the bullshit that’s keeping you stuck. If you’ve ever felt like you don’t fit neatly into a box, you’re in the right place.

A Bit About Me

I’m Tori Corbett, a straight-passing (she/her) Bi+ queer woman, a licensed therapist in Oregon, and a recovering people-pleasing perfectionist. I specialize in working with highly sensitive, ambitious women (and gender rebels) who are burned out from trying to keep it all together.

Growing up in Santa Monica, California, at the corner of 10th and Pearl, our place was always open to the misfits, dreamers, and rebels. It wasn’t surprising to find someone camped out in our garage because they needed a safe place. That little corner of the world was known as Corbett Corner, a name that stuck—and now, it’s the name of this blog. A space for real talk, rebellious healing, and saying 'fuck it' to societal expectations.

My Work: Therapy for the Square Pegs

I’ve been a therapist for over two decades, helping highly sensitive, perfectionistic Bi+ women, LGBTQIA+ misfits, and anxious overachievers break free from old narratives.

Most of my clients have spent years hustling for approval, over-explaining their identity, or trying to be "good enough"—only to feel like outsiders in both straight and queer spaces. Many are burned out, overwhelmed, and sick of shrinking themselves to fit in.

In my practice, I help clients: ✔ Manage anxiety without gaslighting themselves into thinking they should just “calm down.” ✔ Set unapologetic boundaries and break free from people-pleasing. ✔ Unpack internalized biphobia & queer identity struggles—because feeling "not queer enough" is bullshit. ✔ Challenge perfectionism so it stops running the show. ✔ Reclaim space and self-trust, even when it feels terrifying.

If that sounds like you, you're not too much. You're exactly right.

Embracing the Chaos

When I’m not in session, I’m probably reading, writing, or researching something nerdy. I’m a podcast junkie, a late-night YouTube music reaction binger, and a sucker for photos of colorful old doors with bicycles (bonus points if there’s a baguette involved).

I’ve also backpacked across multiple countries, lived out my bucket-list dream of living in France, and learned the hard way that unhealed trauma doesn’t go away just because you change locations. Therapy helped me find home within myself—and now, I help others do the same.

Corbett Corner Chronicles: What to Expect

This blog is where I write about whatever the hell is on my mind—mental health, queer identity, feminist rage, trauma recovery, perfectionism, and why giving fewer fucks is sometimes the healthiest option.

Some posts will be messy, some will be insightful, and some might call out the patriarchal bullshit that fuels anxiety and burnout. But all of it? Unfiltered, real, and written for those of us who never quite fit in.

If you're here, welcome. You belong.

Want therapy that gets you? Work with me.
